Research Scientist I needed by the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. Will maintain and characterize Potato Virus Y (PVY) isolate collection, both biologically on indicator plants and through whole genome sequencing; identify main PVY genetic determinants responsible for pathogenicity in potato using full-length infectious clone of PVY; collect and characterize new PVY isolates; identify specific syndrome determinants; integrate new isolates into collection; and utilize molecular techniques to characterize population structure and genetic changes, as well as other plant viruses; design experimental procedures, and engage in field work and sample collection, molecular characterization, data analysis, and preparation of publications. Must have Ph.D in Plant Virology or closely related field; in-depth knowledge of the following techniques/technologies: Biology and molecular genetics of Potato virus Y, including PVY reverse genetics with full-length infectious clone of the virus; potato seed certification; potato viruses; potato tissue culture. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
